The combination of safety-relevant components in the SRG,SRT and WS equipment assemblies offers the support of personal safety, even when a component fails or experiences wear:
The safety clutch comprises the central safety component of all SRG,SRT and WS equipment assemblies. With its torque limit of the drive mechanism, a rigid interconnection between the drive mechanism motor and the window sash or roll casing is avoided. Using a low-fatigue soft start by means of mechanical slippage, this allows for an absolute limit of the driving power, even with wedge failure or door control malfunction. Signs of wear or damage to the clutch facings decrease the torque to be transferred, so that the closing speed increases; however, personal security remains ensured. The sticking together of friction disk coatings is avoided by means of slippage that occurrs cyclically with each startup.
The wedge is a safety component that is independent from the drive mechanism, where such a component restricts the contact force of the window sash or roll casing on the required measurement, even with counterweight failure or a split in the drive chain.
The twofold counterweight is also arranged independently from the drive mechanism, and keep the window sash or roll casing in place in every position, even with a dismantled drive mechanism motor a split in the drive chain.
In the closed condition, the doors hermetically insulate work stations from flying sparks resulting from welding as well as from possible intrusions in mechanical workflows. A visor and increased sound insulation are possible with the corresponding optional equipment.
An automatic mechanical window locking mechanism prevents the possibility of the shielding window being suspended from its closed limit position with the ongoing process.
SRG Safety shielding windows, SRT safety rolling gates and WS safety removable memory are available not only with but also without a control system.
For dafety and technical purposes, the following tasks pertain to a door control that is used:
- safe locking of the process release when the door is closed or process stop when the door is not closed,
- a reversing of the door's drive mechanism after a max. of 5s, provided that, during this period, the door is not closed
Functional description
Zero-current condition
In the zero-current state, the window sashes of the shielding window or the casing of the rolling gates are manually movable up to the open or closed final position. The window sashes / roll casing remain in the same position because of the counterweight
Process start, closing the safety equipment
By activating a corresponding control unit (manual buttons, foot switches), the shielding window or rolling gate is closed using the appropriate safety control. In the closed state, the drive mechanism motor is switched off and the production process is electrically disconnected. In addition, shielding windows are automatically locked, in order to prevent manual suspension; Rolling gate casings are self-locking because of their blade assembly.
Process end, opening the safety equipment
After the process time has elapsed, the shielding window or rolling gate is disconnected for the opening sequence with a corresponding message from the central process control. The shielding window or rolling gate opens and the drive mechanism motor is once again switched off in the open fional position. In addition, in the case of shielding windows, the mechanical locking opens automatically in the starting torque.
Intervention during the closing process
When an operator intervenes in opening the door during the closing process, the window sash or roll casing sets up with its wedge on the body that is found in the closure range. Within the stroke range of the wedge as well as the deformable structure of the leading rubber hollow section, the brake lever wedges the wedge on the guide shafts. The drive mechanism is decoupled using the safety clutch.
In this state, with the door blocked, the drive mechanism motor further rotates for as long as it is switched off by the safety control or switched over for opening the window. Then, a new closing process once again becomes possible right away.
Electrical equipment
All SRG safety shielding windows and SRT safety rolling gates are equipped with a standard three-phase current worm gear motor and with 4 roll limit switches, as per DIN EN 50041. The roll limit switches report the following window positions in SRG shielding windows:
- Window open, motor cut-out point with the opening sequence
- Motor cut-out point with the closing sequence
- as an option, window closed (2nd message) or window slightly open
or in SRT rolling gates, the following door positions:
- Door open, motor cut-out point with the opening sequence
- Motor cut-out point with the closing sequence
- Door closed (2nd message)
Not only the drive mechanism motor but also the roll limit switches are built in, unwired, in the standard equipment and is arranged using junction plate connection procedure.
Compared to the standard equipment, the following special equipment is available for all SRG Safety shielding windows, SRT safety rolling gates and WS safety removable memory:
-
Non-contact safety switch with coded actuator (Safety category 4),
-
pluggable roll limit switches,
- pluggable roll limit switches with LED indicator ( switch state indicator ),
- Plug for motor connector built in, in the motor's junction box incl. counter-coupling,
- Plugging combination for motor connector separately attached to the back side of the equipment assembly and not wired to the motor,
- Pre-wiring of roll limit switches to the attached junction box,
- Pre-wiring of driuve mechanism motor to the attached junction box,
- Accumulative plug-in connector in the attached junction box,
- complete control separately or in the attached and wired state,
